Dr Chetan Tamhankar, Chief Operating Officer
Dr Chetan Tamhankar is the Chief Operating Officer of the SIRO group. He Joined SIRO in June 1996 and has since led the growth of SIRO from a 2 member team to its present status as a leading transnational full service Clinical Research Organization for fast track and optimal cost clinical R&D. He has responsibility for providing the strategic vision for the group, overseeing the operating companies in Europe, USA and India, and developing integrated global solutions to meet client needs.
Dr. Tamhankar has been associated with the clinical research industry for over fifteen years at different levels. He has hands on experience in clinical research management and has contributed immensely in the growth of the clinical research industry in India. He has served the Indian Society for Clinical Research (ISCR) in various roles and is currently the General Secretary of the society. He is also a widely recognized industry expert and frequent speaker on strategic issues in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.
Dr. Tamhankar has consulted widely with senior executives from a number of the major global pharmaceutical manufacturers, managed care organizations, and academic medical centers, and advised on a range of strategic, organizational and operational issues concerning all aspects of drug development.
Dr Chetan Tamhankar is a doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences with specialization in Bio-pharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics from the University of Mumbai. He is also a part of different academic and scientific committees of clinical research stream in India, research advisory committee for University Board of Veterinary research and has been working as a research examiner for doctorate and post graduate programs in pharmaceutical sciences.
