“In the financially constrained APAC healthcare sector, there is an increased pressure to provide cost-effective treatment options. Data-driven decisions are thus gaining importance to deal with uncertainties and to ensure affordable and effective healthcare for all. HEOR, once considered a support function, has now become an integral part greatly influencing market access strategy and must be leveraged appropriately to communicate the right value of innovations…”

Rishabh’s podium session will focus on the following:

  • Imperative role of statins over vitamins and NSAIDs in preventive/pre-emptive treatment modalities for Alzheimer’s disease
  • Overview of three direct meta-analysis of RCTs conducted on statins, NSAIDs and vitamins and a network meta-analysis to compare all three modalities with each other
  • To help researchers to re-prioritize the focus of their research on Alzheimer’s disease

“Network meta-analysis of randomized trials to compare the efficacy of NSAIDs, statins and vitamins in Alzheimer’s disease”

Podium Presentation:

Research podium presentations – Session 1
Monday, 5th September, 2016
8:30 - 9:30 SGT

Profound interest has been generated recently on the role of statins, NSAIDs and vitamins for their preventive role in Alzheimer’s disease. The results are yet inconclusive but, the selection of the right candidate can help contemporary researchers in deciding future research strategies for this condition. Currently, most of the studies are placebo controlled and have not compared these modalities against each other.

Understand through a detailed podium presentation how a network meta-analysis conducted helped in deciding a potential therapy and a potential candidate that can be a focus for future research.
